Free Modern Quilt Pattern – Giant Plus Quilt

I am so happy to bring you my first modern quilt pattern and coloring sheet for FREE. Scroll to the bottom of this post for a link to download the free PDF to print at home!

This is a simple quilt top pattern with a big impact; great for a beginner skill level or anyone making their first quilt. This is a one page PDF, sized to 8.5″ x 11″ paper for easy printing at home. Simply print it out and start coloring!

The pattern is arranged in a way to fit in 6 different fabric colors – but you can make it your own with fewer or more colors. Then, use your colored masterpiece as a guide to lay out your square blocks and get to sewing!

This pattern includes fabric requirements for a throw size quilt (55×55″) and a queen size quilt (88×88″). Click below for a link to download the free PDF and use the hashtag #giantplusquilt to share your work. Quilt on!

The Mod Daisy Quilt ✿ I designed and finished this quilt in 2022. ✿ I procrastinated posting. ✿ I quilted it on my domestic machine using top-stitch thread. ✿ I made the scalloped edge by tracing circles, overlapped by 1”. ✿ I machine stitched the binding to the front and hand sewed to the back. ✿ I gave this quilt to my Mom.

✿ Hey, it’s Ashley! ✿ I want to freshen things up around Giant Quilts. And that starts with sharing a little more of me! Giant Quilts was started as a blog in 2020 to journal the process of a beginner (me) making a quilt. I’ve made a few more quilts since then and want to keep expanding my knowledge, skills and creativity. Where is this going? I have no idea.
